“Our failure to put in any meaningful policies to cut back on greenhouse gas emissions to rapidly reduce them to zero, basically dooms humanity to a very tough ride in the coming decades…We have now reached the point where we have to expect that several billion people over the next few decades are simply going to die from climate change events…the effect on many of the countries on the planet is going to be catastrophic. This is the consequence of the inability to manage the problem…The navy is buying everything that is wrong for the future that is most likely…the threat of China is a maybe, the threat of climate change is guaranteed…It’s as if the Australian Government doesn’t understand the term ‘existential threat’…We’re preparing to be a colonial contingent helping the Americans in a war with China which just doesn’t seem the future you would want…”
